Force Multiplication as a Skill

How to Make Others More Effective Through Your Actions and Knowledge

Module 5 · Lesson 2 of 5

Force multiplication — the ability to make others more effective through your presence and actions — has always been the quality that distinguishes the invaluable employee from the merely great one. The difference between someone who is excellent at their own work and someone whose excellence scales across a team is force multiplication. AI doesn't create this as a new requirement; it intensifies it to the point where it becomes almost the entire job.

The professional who understands how to deploy AI for their own work and then shows others how to do the same is force-multiplying at a new rate. But it's not automatic. You can use AI every day and still keep the benefits entirely private. You can solve problems faster and hoard the advantage. You can learn effective approaches and share none of it. The invaluable employee does the opposite. And that opposite requires deliberate practice.
