Current Agentic AI Products
Many tools marketed as AI "assistants" are becoming agentic. AI tools that browse the web on your behalf. AI that integrates with your calendar and email and manages your schedule. AI coding assistants that can run code and modify files. AI-powered robotic process automation tools that automate workflows across business systems. Autonomous research agents. The agentic AI trend is accelerating, and more of your tools will have autonomous capabilities over time.
Before granting any agentic tool access, ask yourself the right questions: What's the minimum access it needs to do its specific job? Does it currently have more than that? What would happen if this tool were compromised or manipulated? Is there a way to require confirmation before consequential actions? If not, should I be using this tool at this stage of its maturity?
These questions aren't complicated, but they're important. They prevent access grants that happen casually and then never get revisited.
